This original watch was created in collaboration with the Surfrider Foundation, which conducts environmental protection activities together with surfers committed to the ocean. The urethane exterior is made from recycled plastic otherwise destined for disposal, while the Tough Solar charging system uses sunlight to power the watch. These features are expected to help reduce the product’s environmental impact. The great environmentally-friendly materials and functions make it that much easier to live in harmony with nature.

The Surfrider Foundation is an environmental protection organization founded by surfers who love the ocean. Its aim is to protect irreplaceable ocean ecosystems and preserve them for future generations. Since formed in the United States in 1984, the foundation has worked to protect coastal ecosystems, and its accomplishments are recognized worldwide.

Recycled materials to help reduce environmental impact
Resin scraps recovered from Casio manufacturing processes are used to create the parts of this watch. The scraps are finely shredded, mixed into a base urethane material, and then moulded into the necessary components. The look features the random texture and pattern created by the grey and white flakes of added material. The overall monochrome watch design goes well with wetsuits and surf shorts.

Logo and message conveying the desire to live in harmony with nature
The Surfrider Foundation logo is featured on the watch face and case back, while the hashtag #oceanfriendly lifestyle is printed on the band. These design features were added to express the desire to live in harmony with the ocean and nature.
