EXPERIMENTING FOR GREATNESS
In 1981, Kikuo Ibe, at that time an engineer in CASIO's research and development department in Tokyo, dropped the watch his father had once given him. The watch broke, spurring him on to develop the ethos of creating the first indestructible watch that could withstand adverse circumstances.
He founded "Project Team Tough", to make his project a reality. Two years later, in 1983, after throwing more than 200 prototypes off the roof of the Tokyo building, the first shock-resistant, water-resistant G-SHOCK with a battery life of 10 years was born.
This unwavering persistence is the foundation of G-SHOCK's philosophy, which has continued for nearly four decades to this day.
#NEVERGIVEUP
MONCLER HOUSE OF GENIUS X G-SHOCK
As part of its latest House of Genius collection, Moncler has tapped famed electronics brand Casio for a collaboration on its iconic G-SHOCK GM1200 watch. The model is smaller and less bulky than G-SHOCK’s most famous models, but it still packs quite the outdoor punch.

The Moncler House of Genius x Casio G-SHOCK GM2100 pairs a 44.4mm case with a stainless-steel bezel, that features an octagonal design and a rounded hairline finish. The watch is water-resistant (20 bar, 200 meters) and characteristically built to withstand extreme conditions. The watch’s urethane strap is available in two colourways — black and white with Moncler Genius logo lettering, or yellow transparent camouflage.
The watch also has the ability to set five daily alarms, features a countdown timer, and double LED light. The battery life is estimated to be around 3 years, and it shows the time both analogue and digitally.

CONCEPT & DESIGN
The development concept: puristic, slim and compact. The determination to do away with anything superfluous is evident not only in the design, but also in the size. Achieving this required the use of new technologies — from the thin module to the Carbon Core Guard structure. Embodying the essence of the original DW-5000 design, the watch is presented in a redesigned form that fits seamlessly into contemporary lifestyle and fashion.

GA-2100
Paris, Hamburg, New York and Shanghai... Impressions from all over the world flowed into the design work. Countless sketches were made, designs drawn and reviewed in a rigorous process of trial and error. Finally, this analogue G-SHOCK with a minimalist design and an octagonal bezel was born.
CARBON CORE GUARD STRUCTURE
The module is protected by a carbon-fibre-reinforced resin housing. The special properties of the carbon fibre material—low weight, high strength and excellent weather resistance—were used to make the case as slim and compact as possible without compromising on impact resistance.
