ORIGIN

Total loyalty to G-SHOCK toughness: Direct descendants in fresh new colors

Introducing heirs to the DNA of the very first G-SHOCK, the DW-5000C, which hit the scene in 1983. These new watches build on the design of the GW-5000, which continued the G-SHOCK legacy of innovation with radio-controlled, solar-powered timekeeping. The new GW-5000HS watches, now in two fresh monochrome options, reproduce design details from the original G-SHOCK, including the solid sophistication of the metal case, the screw-lock case back, and the classic face design.

FEATURES

Metal case and screw-lock case back

The core technology of G-SHOCK — the shock-resistant structure — is reproduced with the same metal case and screw-lock case back design used on the very first DW-5000C. A DLC coating is applied to the pure titanium to provide improved abrasion resistance, and a circular hairline finish enhances its textural appeal.

Face design An homage to the first-ever G-SHOCK

The design code of the very first G-SHOCK is adopted, including the iconic brick pattern — a symbol of toughness — the “SHOCK RESIST” logo, and the mode and feature indicators.

Made in Japan

The watch is crafted at Yamagata Casio, the “mother factory” where the first-ever G-SHOCK was made. Loyalty to the roots of that very first model makes these watches heirs to the original spirit of toughness that this made-in-Japan brand gave the world.

Attention to materials: Bio-based resin

Key resin components used in the case, bezel, band, and more are made with bio-based resin, which is produced using renewable organic resources and is expected to help reduce environmental impact.
