LINEUP

Since opening its doors in New York in 1989, UNION has been a street fashion sensation. Now Chris Gibbs, the owner of the brand’s locations in L.A., Tokyo, and Osaka, teams up with G-SHOCK for a truly special timepiece based on the DW-5600, a true heir to the first-ever G-SHOCK.

UNION

UNION

Born out of the desire to have a place to showcase what the local community of kids were up to with music, art and fashion, as well as being a bridge to unique items from various parts of the world, Union first opened its doors in NYC back in 1989 on Spring Street in Soho. In short, it was the store that represented the fashion side of New York City’s youth and counterculture.
The Los Angeles shop followed soon after when Eddie Cruz, who was on the original Union team in NYC, decided to move west. Maintaining the same principles as the New York shop, Union LA embraced the creativity of fresh designers within the city and continued the hunt for cool stuff coming out of countries like Japan and the UK.

FEATURES

Inspired by the Pan-African Flag where Chris Gibbs and the UNION brand find their roots, the collaboration features Red, Black and Green colors — a black base with red and green accents that sweep boldly across the face, including the LCD, and onto the band. The visually striking color scheme is echoed in the red, black, and green band loops.

The UNION Frontman logo on the LED backlight display and case back, and the special packaging, add finishing touches to a collaboration that is definitively both G-SHOCK and UNION.
