G-SHOCK introduces a full-metal design version of the AW-500-1E, which was released in 1989 as part of the AWM-500 Series. It was the first analogue-digital model to the G-SHOCK lineup.

The face of the watch has Arabian numeral hour markers at 15, 30, and 45 minutes for easy reading. The bezel, case and band have a black ion-plated (IP) finish to replicate the colour of the original AW-500 watches. A bracelet-type metal band with rounded elements reproduces the shape of the AW-500 band, and the back cover is a screw type. Other features include radio-controlled atomic timekeeping, Tough Solar, high-brightness double LED illumination, World Time, and more.
