1. Can you briefly tell us about what you are working on and its purpose?
My name is Philip Post and I am an artist / owner of dertbag, divine energy radiates through beauty and genius. I am currently working on a new collection of clothing, paintings, and music. I like the idea that all three of these components of how I express myself are all tied to my creative output. I am able to show who I am through the clothing I design and wear, the music I make creates the atmosphere and the paintings are visual eye candy for whatever room they’re in. I am focused on divine energy and only creating that.

2. What inspired you to start this journey, and what drives your passion for it?
I am inspired by parents who are both artists. Growing up art was really valued in my household. Creating stuff with your hands was a bonus. I think what drives my passion for clothing design is creating clothing for myself that I would want to wear. I think it’s about looking at my past and seeing what I can reinterpret as a contemporary silhouette. I have a lot of fun creating pieces that are made with intention and love.

3. What challenges have you faced, and how have you overcome them?
Some challenges that I have faced have been with my own health. I have Crohn’s disease and colitis and also passed away in 2021 due to a perforated colon. I had to get emergency surgery which left me with a colostomy bag. While I was in the hospital recovering the only thing that kept me going was the ideas I wanted to produce. After a couple months out of the hospital I made a collection called “dertbag saved my life” because it really did. Me making a world for myself and community of supporters is why I am still here and my purpose for being here. I want to inspire because inspiration is the highest currency.

4. Is there anything you prioritize or value deeply to stay true to yourself?
I prioritize my health, my family, and my friendships. These three things keep me stable, down to earth, and are the main things that really matter to me. If I am able to do what I love and be with the people I love then that can be success to me.

5. In your life, what moments do you consider the most meaningful or precious?
I think the moments that I consider most meaningful or precious are when I am with loved ones. I love being surrounded by people that I care about and they care about me. The other time is when I am creating and enter the flow state. I love when my mind goes blank and does its own thing. My body acts as a vessel and I am able to truly express what’s inside.

6. What are your aspirations or plans for the future?
My aspirations for the future is to be a creative director for a bigger brand so I am able to reach more people. I want to be a creative director for a brand like Uniqulo, Old Navy, and be able to my generation's Ralph Lauren. I want my name to be a house hold name along with being able to reach the luxury fashion space and the affordable fashion space and everything in between. I want to change the world with design, proportion, and palette. Everything I am doing now are small steps to get there.
