G-SHOCK 200m Water Resistance
G-SHOCK watches are built for tough conditions, including use in and around water. Learn what 200m water resistance, 20-bar water resistance, and WR20BAR mean for G-SHOCK watches, and understand the difference between the defining feature of standard 200m G-SHOCK water resistance and FROGMAN ISO 200m diving water resistance.
G-SHOCK Watch 20-Bar Water Resistance – Defining Feature
G-SHOCK 20-bar water resistance is the technical basis behind the brand’s 200m water-resistance standard and has been a core part of the G- SHOCK identity for over 40 years. For everyday use and active water conditions, this means you can wear your G-SHOCK while working with water, showering, swimming, surfing, or jet skiing. In everyday speech, we might call a watch "waterproof," but this term is inaccurate. A more accurate term is "water resistant," and watches offer water resistance ratings to various pressures. For G- SHOCK, that pressure rating is 200 meters.
FROGMAN and ISO 200m Diving Water Resistance
Standard G-SHOCK 200m water resistance is appropriate for many water activities, but a professional scuba diving watch requires a watch specifically designed and tested for diving use. The G-SHOCK FROGMAN collection features ISO-standard 200m diving water resistance, supported by a stainless-steel case structure and highly airtight screw back.
For scuba diving, freediving, and dive-oriented performance, explore the G-SHOCK FROGMAN collection.
G-SHOCK Water-Resistance Testing
