Pro basketball player Rui Hachimura’s fourth signature model
Casio has been collaborating with Rui Hachimura on signature watches since 2019. This fourth joint effort, based on a watch from the 2100 line, comes with Smartphone Link and is finished in black, gold, and red, signifying the strength, shine, and passion of Hachimura, the global basketball sensation. This special edition also features his signature “Black Samurai” logo.
Rui Hachimura
Born February 8, 1998, in Toyama Prefecture. Hachimura began playing basketball in earnest in middle school. While at Meisei High School in Miyagi Prefecture, he led his team to three consecutive victories in the All-Japan High-School Tournament. While still a student, he was selected as a candidate to play for Japan’s national team. In 2016, Hachimura attended Gonzaga University in the U.S., a school with a highly respected basketball program in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). In his third season as a key player, the Gonzaga Bulldogs made it to the Elite Eight in the NCAA tournament, and he won the Julius Erving award as the best small forward that season. In 2019, Hachimura became the first Japanese national ever to be taken in the first round of the NBA draft, and joined the Washington Wizards. He played in 48 of 72 games his rookie season, and his stellar performance earned him a spot on the second-team NBA All-Rookie Team. Hachimura joined the Los Angeles Lakers in 2023.

Hachimura’s signature logo celebrates his identity
Hachimura’s signature “Black Samurai” logo is engraved on the band loop. It combines the symbol 八 (hachi in Japanese, meaning “eight”), representing his name, with a Japanese sword, resulting in an additional “H” motif, for “Hachimura.” His signature graces the case back, finished with a refined yellow-gold ion plating.
A special design that evokes the basketball court
The entire dial is finished in a basketball-court motif, a nod to Hachimura’s powerful presence in the world’s top league. The black and red of the LCD is inspired by the game’s ubiquitous 24-second shot clock.
