G-SHOCK was born in 1983 by challenging the notion of a watch as a fragile piece of jewellery to be handled with care. From then, G-SHOCK has continued to evolve uniquely and support challengers. In this page, we would like to share what our “Essentials” are.
Essential Series
Four series that are indispensable when talking about G-SHOCK. For daily use, work, hobby time, and gifts. G-SHOCK want you to enjoy your own time.
2100 Series
The next-generation new standard model, following the G-SHOCK origin, 5600 series. Since its launch in 2019, it has been extremely popular all over the world.
110 Series
This series was inspired by the subculture "Steampunk". The three-dimensional and powerful big face is attractive.
6900 Series
The 6900 series has been become popular worldwide in the 1990s, among the young skaters and who love hip hop in USA. Featuring a third design and large size, it has been loved over time.
5600 Series
The 5600 series is called "the origin of G-SHOCK". This simple form has long existed as the base of G-SHOCK.

When Casio entered the timepiece business in the 1970s, a watch was a delicate piece of equipment that could not be dropped. The shock-resistant G-SHOCK, launched in 1983, overturned the accepted notion of what a watch is.

SHOCK RESISTANCE
Based on a realization that "shocks are not transmitted inside a bouncing rubber ball," the structure was designed to let the module float inside the case, relieving shocks transmitted from outside.
WATER RESISTANCE
It can be used in a variety of places and situations, from daily water work and showers to water activities such as swimming, surfing and jet skiing.
